Meshuggah Announce North American Tour

So we’re a little late on this one as it broke late in the day on Friday, but Swedish extreme metal group Meshuggah have announced a 21-date North American tour with High on Fire as their support. Meshuggah hits the road in October to kick off their run, with opening night coming on October 10th at House of Blues in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, and it’s worth noting that High on Fire will NOT be appearing at that show, as is the case with 3 other stops through North America (two of those are festival dates).

For their part, High on Fire will open for most of the NA run. I saw High on Fire seemingly a lifetime ago, when they opened Megadeth’s Gigantour in 2008, way back when they were unknowns and were followed by Job for a Cowboy. I never would have picked High on Fire to have the following they do now, but they’ve come a long way in the last 8 years and are definitely a solid choice to tour with Meshuggah.

MESHUGGAH will release the ultimate collectors’ piece, the “25 Years Of Musical Deviance” box set, on July 29 via Nuclear Blast. The set is limited to 1,000 units worldwide; only 585 will be available in the U.S. exclusively via the Nuclear Blast webshop.

Meshuggah are also set to tour Europe later this year, which will follow the release of their heavily anticipated new album, which is expected to be released this fall. No word yet on an exact date. High on Fire will also provide main support on the EU trek. Check out the North American tour dates and poster below.
