PREVIEW: 311 Returning to NYC

Almost a year to the day, Omaha-based rockers 311 are coming back to NYC on 7/11 (side note: it’s still not 3/11) for a rare indoor show in the dead of summer, as they’re set to play the famed Hammerstein Ballroom with New Politics. We covered 311 last summer, which you can read about here.

This time, 311 has a new album to pimp titled Mosaic, and new music means new live tunes and more fun to go along with them. Obviously, fans want to hear the hits, but expect to hear a decent amount of new numbers at this show. That’s not a band thing, they’ll still close with Down like they always do, and they’ll still play the stuff you guys are paying to hear, but I’m always a fan of hearing a new song live for the first time, so the new album that just dropped a couple weeks ago should make for some added excitement on this run.

311 kicked off their annual Unity Tour just one day before Mosaic was released and the tour runs into September, so we’re getting the boys while they’re still fresh and on the early portion of their annual run. We were the 10th show last year and they were great, so I expect more of the same and nothing less than a full-throttle show from Nick Hexum and the gang this time around as well.

Tickets for their remaining shows are available through Live Nation, and you can check out all of 311’s remaining Unity Tour dates right below. We’re working on being at the NYC show on 7/11, and with the reviews this tour has been receiving early on, we’re pretty excited.
