PREVIEW: Dropkick Murphys are Back and Looking for Trouble

Boston-based Irish punk band Dropkick Murphys are set to hit the road once again following their From Boston to Berekely tour with fellow punk rockers Rancid last summer and are bringing a different kind of punk act with them this time around as they co-headline with Flogging Molly!

The tour kicked off a couple days ago and continues with 14 more dates including June 22 at our own Forest Hills Stadium – which used to be a tennis stadium – where the boys will no doubt rock NYC for the second time in less than year. DKM have been very busy over the past two years, touring extensively in the US and Europe and are fresh off this same run with Flogging Molly – who are back for a third time in less than two years – in the UK and Europe, where it was a massive success. Two punk bands with Irish roots colliding for a tour is asking for shenanigans, and there’s never been any shortage of shenanigans with either group as a headliner. I’ve been hoping this tour would come to the States since it was announced that DKM and Flogging Molly would be touring together in Europe, and it’s finally here with the bands having played two shows already. The countdown to June 22 starts today.

Dropkick Murphys are still out supporting their most recent album, 2017’s 11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory, while Flogging Molly also dropped a new album later last year, Life is Good, which is barely out a year as of this writing. Both bands bring something special to every show, and with the two of them together as co-headliners and likely playing close to 90 minutes each, this tour is going to be insane.
