“The End” is upon us – Black Sabbath Announce Final Tour Dates; Last-ever show to be played in UK

Legendary heavy metal icons Black Sabbath have made official what we’ve all known for quite some time now – The End is nigh – announcing a final run of tour dates to conclude with back to back shows in their hometown of Birmingham, United Kingdom, early next year. For Ozzy, Tony and Geezer, the Birmingham shows mark a return to the scene of the crime, so to speak, where it all began nearly 5 decades ago with the sound of thunder and a heavy guitar riff, announcing to the world the birth of Black Sabbath.

With the first leg of “The End” completed, Sabbath are set to kick off the second North American leg right here in the New York area later this summer, with opening night taking place at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY on August 17th, a show yours truly fully intends to attend. I’ve only seen Sabbath once, and a proper goodbye only feels right. For their part, Guitarist and founder Tony Iommi recently commented on “The End” in an interview with The Guardian, Said Iommi, “It particularly hit me in Australia. I thought: ‘Blimey. This is it. We’re never going back.’ It’s very emotional. But it doesn’t mean we won’t play together any more, we’re just stopping touring. Well, I’m not doing any more. They [Ozzy Osbourne and Geezer Butler] might be (laughs).”

Black Sabbath’s final US tour dates are below, with their final-ever dates listed below that. We look forward to having coverage of their NYC-area date in August, so stay tuned for that. Tickets for most dates are already on sale.
